Numbers
28 and 29 Law of the Offerings
Of
the five offerings, three of them were sweet savor offerings, two of them were
non-sweet offerings. The sweet savor
offerings represented the person of Christ; the non-sweet offering speaks of
the work of Christ in redemption for you and me. They all speak of what God
thinks of Him.
Real
worship is when we think God’s thoughts after Him. God is satisfied with what Christ did for you
and me on the cross. True worship is a
recognition of who He is and an adoration of His Person. If we pay close
attention to the Word of God, we will find that we are sinners and need a
Savior. We need Christ! We need a Savior who died for us and paid the
penalty for our sins. God says it is our sins that have separated us from Him. He is a sweet savor offering; that is who He
is. He is the non-sweet offering; that
is what He did. He was made sin for us,
He who knew no sin.
The
special annual feasts could not take the place of regular offerings. The way to become more spiritual is to
strengthen the regular worship day after day, and then the special times of
worship will do us more good.
