Psalm
6 -7– A Cry for Mercy
We
can look at this Psalm as a picture of David, a picture of Jesus Christ, and a
picture of Israel in the last days, and a picture of believers – you and me.
This is a cry for mercy out of the depths of despair. Only mercy can save us.
The
Spirit of Christ speaks prophetically of His own suffering through which He
would pass in the days of His humiliation. His people, the nation Israel, that
remnant in the Great Tribulation, will also pass-through suffering. Today many
of God’s saints are passing through it.
Regardless
of what you are going through today, He has already been through it, and He can
comfort you.
In
Hebrews 5:7 we are told concerning the Lord Jesus, “Who in the days of his
flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and
tears unto him that was able to save him from death and was heard in that he
feared.” That is our confidence today. God will hear and answer our prayer when
we are in deep trouble.
Psalm
7 – A Cry for Revenge
David
is crying aloud in song. It reveals prophetically the persecution and the final
suffering of the God-fearing remnant of Israel during the time of the Great
Tribulation. It is the outcry against the “man of sin.”
There
are things in our life that we don’t understand, but He is going to explain it
someday.
David
cries for God to avenge and vindicate him.
“I
will praise the Lord according to His righteousness: and will sing praise to
the name of the Lord most high.” Vs. 17
God
will deal with sin and wickedness, and He will finally eradicate it from His
universe. Praise the Lord!
