There is a Fountain

There is a Fountain

When Jesus died upon the cross, His blood flowed. It flowed from Immanuel which means, God with us. He died in between two thieves, one of which humbled himself and praised Jesus for being perfect. We are all sinners and God doesn’t see one sinner worse than another. Paul said he was the worst of sinners, yet we are not short of sins ourselves. It is by the power of blood that ransomed us from our sins. We have been redeemed and we should all take in that kind of love and live within it daily.

Lyrics by William Cowper, arranged by Early American Melody

“There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel’s veins; And sinners, plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains; Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains, and sinners, plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day; And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away; Wash all my sins away, wash all my sins away; And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away.

Dear dying lamb, thy precious blood shall never lose its power, till all the ransomed Church of God be saved, to sin no more; Be saved to sin no more, be saved to sin no more; Till all the ransomed Church of God be saved to sin no more.

Ever since, by faith, I saw the stream thy flowing wounds supply, redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die; and shall be till I die, Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing thy power to save, when this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave; Lies silent in the grave, lies silent in the grave; When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave.”

Redeemed

Redeemed

Redeemed means having been saved or delivered from sin or its consequences. When Jesus died on the cross, He delivered us from sin. It is by His Mercy, the forgiveness to whom it is not deserving, that we are saved from our sins. Once that is done, we become His child now and forever. We can acknowledge Him as our blessed Redeemer and sing praises to Him all day long.

Lyrics by Fanny J. Crosby, arranged by William J. Kirkpatrick

“Redeemed how I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child forever, I am.

Redeemed and so happy in Jesus, no language my rapture can tell; I know that the light of His presence with me doth continually dwell.

I think of my blessed Redeemer, I think of Him all the day long; I sing, for I cannot be silent; His love is the theme of my song.

I know I shall see in His Beauty the King in whose law I delight, Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps, and giveth me songs in the night.

Redeemed, redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed, redeemed, His child, and forever I am.”

Nothing But the Blood

Nothing But the Blood

The blood of Jesus is the only thing that can wash away our sins, it’s the only thing that can make us whole again. It’s not anything that we can do that will atone our sins. Only the blood of Jesus can give us hope and peace and righteousness.

Lyrics by Robert Lowry, arranged by Robert Lowry

“What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my pardon this I see, nothing but the blood of Jesus; For my cleansing, this my plea, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Nothing can for sin atone, nothing but the blood of Jesus; Naught of good that I have done, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

This is all my hope and peace, nothing but the blood of Jesus; This is all my righteousness, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know. Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Nor Silver nor Gold

Nor Silver nor Gold

There is no amount of money, silver or gold that can get us into heaven. It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, it cannot save your soul. It matters not how good you are or the deeds you have done. It won’t earn your way into heaven. The death of Jesus, His blood shed for us is our only foundation that can make us whole and open the door to our salvation. Trust and believe in God, give yourself to Him in baptism and be obedient to Him. Build on your relationship with His son, Jesus. That is the way to the throne of God.

Lyrics by James M. Gray, arranged by Daniel B. Towner

“Nor silver nor gold hath obtained my redemption, nor riches of earth could have saved my poor soul; The blood of the cross is my only  foundation, the death of my Savior now maketh me whole.

Nor silver nor gold hath obtained my redemption, the guilt on my conscience too heavy had grown; The blood of the cross is my only foundation, the death of my Savior could only atone.

Nor silver nor gold hath obtained my redemption the holy commandment forbade me draw near; The blood of the cross is my only foundation, The death of my Savior removeth my fear.

Nor silver nor gold hath obtained my redemption, the way into heaven could not thus be bought; The blood of the cross is my only foundation, the death of my Savior redemption hath wrought.

I am redeemed but not with silver; I am bought but not with gold; Bought with a price the blood of Jesus. Precious price of love untold.”

It Took a Miracle

It Took a Miracle

Omnipotent means having unlimited power; able to do anything. That is God. There is nothing He can’t do. If you ever witnessed a miracle, then you can attest to that being true. The Bible tells us of God’s might and power. Who else can part the waters and let mankind walk through? Who else can send thunder and lightning? Who else can send the Spirit to give a virgin child a baby in her womb? You want to know more, then I encourage you to read the Bible. It is full of God’s power and might.

Lyrics by John W. Peterson, arranged by John W. Peterson

“My Father is omnipotent, and that you can’t deny; A God of might and miracles tis written in the sky.

Tho here His glory has been shown, we still can’t fully see the wonders of His might, His throne twill take eternity.

The Bible tells us of His power and wisdom all way through, and every little bird and flower are testimonies too.

It took a miracle to put the stars in place,  it took a miracle to hang the world in space; But when He saved my soul,  cleansed and made me whole, it took a miracle of love and grace!

Love Led Him to Calvary

Love Led Him to Calvary

When Jesus came to earth, He was born in a sin filled world. His ministry built in Him a love for every soul He encountered. He wanted them to follow Him and make them His own. It didn’t matter if the person was rich or poor, intelligent or average, or even inept. Their looks didn’t matter and their status didn’t matter. Jesus didn’t look at the outside of the individual; He looked at the heart. He sought the sinful and He still does today. Open your heart to Jesus and let Him make you His own. He knows your heart.

Lyrics by George O. Webster, arranged by Charles H. Gabriel

“Love led the Savior, in days long ago, down to earth’s darkness, it sin and its woe; Seeking the lost ones, His mercy to show.

Love, for a manger, abandoned a throne, seeking the sinful, the sad and the lone; Yearning to win them and make them His own.

Seeing the soul in its infinite worth, stooping, in love, to the lowliest birth, seeking the lost in the byways of earth.

Longing, in pity, the lost ones to save, braving the garden the Cross and the grave, seeking this only, the sinful to save, Love led Him to Calvary. Love led Him to Calvary, Love led Him to Calvary; Seeking the lost, at the uttermost cost, Love led Him to Calvary.”

I Will Sing the Wondrous Story

I Will Sing the Wondrous Story

There is a time in most people’s lives that they worshipped God, praised His Holy name and at some point, had wandered away from God. It’s like hiking in the mountains and following a familiar path, and one day we decide to take a short cut, but the path doesn’t lead in the direction you want. We become lost and fearful and worried we will never be found. Jesus happens to be right in front of us and He leads us back to safety. We have fallen many times in our life and Jesus has always been there to pick us up. All we have to do is look toward Him and find Him waiting.

Lyrics by Francis H. Rowley, arranged by Peter P. Bilhorn

“I will sing the wondrous story of the Christ who died for me, How He left His home in glory for the cross of Calvary.

I was lost, but Jesus found me, found the sheep that went astray, threw His loving arms around me, drew me back into His way.

I was bruised, but Jesus healed me; Faint was I from many a fall; Sight was gone, and fears possessed me, But He freed me from them all.

Days of darkness still come over me, Sorrow’s paths I often tread, but the Savior still is with me; By His hand I’m safely led.

He will keep me till the river rolls its waters at my feet; Then He’ll bear me safely over, where the loved ones I shall meet.

Yes, I’ll sing the wondrous story of the Christ, who died for me. Sing it with the saints in glory gathered by the Crystal Sea.”
