Regrets
2 Corinthians 7:10
“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation,
not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.” Have you ever
done anything that you regret and may still be holding on to? Why is it people
hang on to their regret? For some it is to punish themselves, for others they
have not ever experienced the grace of forgiveness, so it becomes a part of
their life. Then there are those who feel that if they let go of their regret,
they may fall back into the same pit of sin once again. Look at the word, regreT.
Do you see the cross at the end of the word? That is where we should leave our
regret- at the end of the cross. When we hang on to our regret, we quench the
Holy Spirit and do not receive the blessings that God holds in store for us
when we truly let go. In Romans 8:1 it says, “There is therefore now no
condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the
flesh but according to the Spirit. So, we repent of our sins, leave our regret
at the cross and live according to the Spirit. If Christ does not condemn us,
then why should we?
Please read the scriptures listed, study
them, apply them to your life and grow in the saving relationship with Jesus
Christ our Savior.
