Like a River Glorious

                                              Like a River Glorious

When a person has perfect peace, it feels good every day and grows deeper in the soul every day. There is no worry or shadow of care, no need to make hasty decisions. The Love of God flows through us and creates a trust in Him. Those who trust Him wholly, find Him wholly true.

Lyrics by Frances R. Havergal, arranged by James Mountain

“Like a river glorious is God’s perfect peace, over all victorious in its bright increase; Perfect, yet it floweth fuller every day. Perfect, yet it growth deeper all the way.

Hidden in the hollow of His blessed hand, never foe can follow, never traitor stand; not a surge of worry, not a shade of care, not a blast of hurry touch the spirit there.

Every joy or trial falleth from above, Traced upon our dial by the Sun of Love. We may trust Him fully all for us to do; they who trust Him wholly find Him wholly true.

Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest; find, as He promised, perfect peace and rest.”

Master, the Tempest is Raging

                                     Master, The Tempest is Raging

There are so many natural disasters in this world, that each of us have experienced one kind or another. We probably wondered whether this was it, the last day on earth. We might have wondered where God was in it and feared He wasn’t listening to our prayers. With a troubled heart, we think about our life and the sins we committed. Take heart, God is the whisper in the storm. He promised never to leave us or forsake us. We can rest easy when the storm passes and He assured us that He was there all along. He is always there to save. He has a place prepared for us for just that purpose. Whether we are saved for heaven or earth, God’s plans are perfect in every way.

Lyrics by Mary A. Baker, arranged by Horatius R. Palme

“Master the tempest is raging! The billows are tossing high! The sky is overshadowed with blackness; no shelter or help is night; Carest thou not that we perish? How canst Thou lie asleep, when each moment so madly is threatening a grave in the angry deep!

Master, with anguish spirit I bow in my grief today; The depths of my sad heart are troubled; O waken and save, I pray! Torrents of sin and of anguish sweep over my sinking soul and I perish! I perish, dear Master; O hasten and take control!

Master, the terror is over, the elements sweetly rest; Earth’s sun in the calm lake is mirrored, and heavens within my breast. Linger, O blessed Redeemer, leave me alone no more; And with joy I shall make the blest harbor, and rest on the blissful shore.

The winds and the waves shall obey Thy will. Peace be still! Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea, or demons, or men, or whatever it be, no water can swallow the ship where lies the Master of ocean and earth and skies; They all shall sweetly obey Thy will, peace, peace be still!”

Wonderful Peace

                                                     Wonderful Peace

Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.” When we ask God to protect and guide us through a storm and we believe that He will answer that request, we will receive a peace that passes all understanding. There will be calm like no other. Nerves are settled, worries are gone and the Love of God abounds.

Lyrics by Haldor Lillenas, arranged by Haldor Lillenas

“Coming to Jesus, my Savior, I found wonderful peace, wonderful peace; Storms in their fury may rage all around, I have peace, sweet peace.

Peace like a river, so deep and so broad, wonderful peace, wonderful peace; Resting my soul on the bosom of God, I have peace, sweet peace.

Peace like a holy and infinite calm, wonderful peace, wonderful peace; Like to the strains of an evening Psalm, I have peace, sweet peace.

Gone is the battle that once raged within, wonderful peace, wonderful peace; Jesus has saved me and cleansed me from sin, I have peace, sweet peace.

Peace, peace, wonderful peace, peace, peace, glorious peace; Since My Redeemer has ransomed my soul, I have peace sweet peace.”

Sweet Peace, the Gift of God's Love

Sweet Peace, the Gift of God’s Love

If you want peace in your life, turn to Jesus. Jesus is proof of God’s Love, and it is eternal. We can’t find peace in life without Jesus. It’s not in a bottle; it’s not in family or friends. It’s not in a needle or a cigarette. Peace only comes from one source and that is in our relationship with Jesus. Jesus is our Gift from our Heavenly Father. His peace abides within us and helps us through whatever trials or tribulations we may face. Keep Him close to you and He will keep you close to Him.

Lyrics by Peter F. Bilhorn, arranged by Peter F. Bilhorn

“There comes to my heart one sweet strain, a glad and a joyous refrain; I sing it again and again, sweet peace, the gift of God’s love.

Through Christ on the cross peace was made, my debt by His death was all paid’ No other foundation is laid for peace, the gift of God’s love.

When Jesus as Lord I had crowned, my heart with this peace did abound; In Him the rich blessing I found, Sweet peace the gift of God’s love.

In Jesus for peace, I abide, and as I keep close to His side, there’s nothing but peace doth betide, Sweet peace the gift of God’s Love.

Peace, peace, sweet peace! Wonderful gift from above, Oh, wonderful, wonderful peace! Sweet peace, the gift f God’s love!”

Be Still, My Soul

                                                   Be Still, My Soul

Relax, God’s taking care of everything.  “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10. God is always on our side. He doesn’t want bad things to happen to us. That doesn’t mean He doesn’t allow bad things to happen to us, but when He does, He always provides a way out. He will order and provide, and all things will work out for the good to those who Love the Lord, your God. Be patient and watch what God will do. He does amazing things in our lives when we wait on Him and trust Him in all things.

Lyrics by Katharina Von Schlegel, arranged by Jean Siberlius

“Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side; Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain; Leave to thy God to order and provide; In every change He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: thy best. Thy heavenly friend through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake to guide the future as He has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on when we shall be forever with the Lord, when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone. Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys be restored. Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past. All safe and blessed we shall meet at last. Amen.

The Holy Spirit, Lord, Alone

                                  The Holy Spirit, Lord, Alone

Only the Holy Spirit can free us from our sins, He can give us deeper Love and answers to our prayers. The Holy Spirit comforts us and takes away our fears and worries. He alone, can grant us grace. But you must receive it from the oHoly

Holy Spirit before it can be done. The Trinity is there with open arms ready for you to lift your arms up to Him. Just like little children that reaches up for their parents to pick them up, we must reach up to God for Him to pick us up.

Lyrics by Henrietta E. Blair, arranged by William J. Kirkpatrick

“Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, alone can turn our hearts from sin; His power alone can sanctify and keep us pure within.

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, alone can deeper love inspire; His power alone within our souls can light the sacred fire.

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, can bring the gifts we seek in prayer; His voice can words of comfort speak, and still each wave of care.

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, can give the grace we need this hour; and while we wait, O Spirit, come in sanctifying power.”

Heaven Came Down and Glory filled My Soul

Heaven Came Down and Glory Filled My Soul

Remember the day you accepted the Lord and through baptism God washed away your sins. Do You remember how happy you felt and so energized to get busy for the Lord. God’s forgiveness should mean a lot to us and when we see how He meets our needs, especially the needs of our heart, it should exhilarate us into praising Him daily. We have become a part of a unique family and carry with us a hope of eternity in the mansion God has prepared for us. Heaven came down and glory filled my soul!

Lyrics by John W. Peterson, arranged by John W. Peterson

“O what a wonderful, wonderful day – Day I will never forget; after I’d wandered in darkness away, Jesus my Savior I met. O what a tender, compassionate friend, He met the need of my heart; shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling, He made all the darkness depart!

Born of the Spirit with life from above into God’s family divine; Justified fully thru Calvary’s love, O what a standing is mine! And the transaction so quickly was made, when as a sinner I came, took of the offer of grace He did proffer, He saved me, O praise His dear name!

Now I’ve a hope that will surely endure after the passing of time; I have a future in heaven for sure, there in those mansions sublime, and it’s because of that wonderful day when at the cross I believed, riches eternal and blessings supernal from His precious hand I received.

Heaven came down and glory filled my soul, when at the cross the Savior made me whole; sins were washed away, and my night was turned to day. Heaven came down and glory filled my soul!

Alas! And Did My Savior Bleed?

Alas! And Did My Savior Bleed?

When we think about our life, all that we did in the past, what we are doing now, and whether we are worthy to have someone suffer and die for us, we should be humbled. We should get down on our knees and thank Jesus for thinking us worthy of His sacrifice. Christ didn’t only bear our sins upon the cross, but the sins of the whole world. What a burden to carry on one’s shoulders. He bled for us because He Loves us. He died for us so that we can be rid of our sins. All that He did for us we can never repay. We can only give ourselves to Him and put all our faith and trust in Him.

Lyrics by Isaac Watts, arranged by Ralph E. Hudson

“Alas! And did my Savior bleed? And did my Sovereign die? Would He devote that sacred head for such a worm as I?

Was it for crimes that I have done He groaned upon the tree? Amazing pity! Grace unknown! And love beyond degree!

Well might the sun in darkness hide, and shut His glories in, when Christ, the mighty Maker died for man the creature’s sin.

But drops of grief can never repay the debt of love I owe; Here, Lord, I give myself to Thee, - ‘Tis all that I can do.

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light, and the burden of my heart rolled away, It was there by faith I received my sight, and now I am happy all the day!

We Three Kings of Orient Are

We Three Kings of Orient Are

A very popular song indeed. It tells of three Kings from the Orient that came bearing gifts to baby Jesus. The Gifts were Frankincense, Myrrh and Gold. Frankincense was used to consecrate the priests and as an ingredient in the grain offering that was presented to the Lord. Myrrh was the main ingredient in holy anointing oil; it was used as a perfume and embalming. Gold was the symbol of kingship and wealth. It was a precious metal reserved for royalty and those of high status.

Lyrics by John H. Hopkins, arranged by John H. Hopkins

“We three kings of Orient are, bearing gifts we traverse afar field and fountain, moor and mountain, following yonder star.

Born a King on Bethlehem’s plain, gold I bring to crown Him again, King forever, ceasing never over us all to reign.

Frankincense to offer have I, Incense owns a deity nigh; Prayer and praising, all men raising, worship Him, God on high.

Myrrh is mine; its bitter perfume breathes a life of gathering gloom; sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying, sealed in the stone-cold tomb.

Glorious now behold Him arise, King and God and sacrifice; Alleluia, Alleluia! Peals through the earth and skies.

O star of wonder, star of night, star with loyal beauty bright, westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy perfect light.

Tell Me the Old, Old Story

Tell Me the Old, Old Story

Have you told the story of Jesus? It may be an old story but to a soon-to-be believer or a new believer, it may be a fresh new story. Remember to tell them about how he came to earth and was born of a virgin. How He grew up and preached in the temples when He was only 12 years old. Tell them about His ministry and how He trained 12 apostles, (all ordinary men) to talk about Him and to go into all the world and preach the good news of Jesus. Don’t forget how He was crucified and washed away our sins. Please don’t forget to tell them that He arose from the grave and now lives today and is waiting for them at the throne of God.

Lyrics by Catherine Hankey, arranged by William H. Doane

“Tell me the old, old story, of unseen things above, of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love; Tell me the story simply, as to a little child, for I am weak and weary, and helpless and defiled.

Tell me the story slowly, that I may take it in- that wonderful redemption, God’s remedy for sin; Tell me the story often, for I forget so soon, the early dew of morning has passed away at noon.

Tell me the story, with earnest tones and grave; Remember I’m the sinner whom Jesus came to save; Tell me the story always, if you would really be, in any time of trouble, a comforter to me.

Tell me the same old story, when you have cause to fear that this world’s empty glory is costing me too dear; Yes, and when that world’s glory is dawning on my soul, tell me the old, old story; Christ Jesus makes thee whole.

Tell me the old, old story. Tell me the old, old story, tell me the old, old story of Jesus and His love.”

Lead On, O King Eternal

Lead On, O King Eternal

I can see the Israelites singing this song when they left Egypt and wandered in the wilderness for forty years. Yes, they had their struggles but when their faith was strong, they sang praises to God who brought them across the Red Sea and healed the waters to drink. They surely praised Him when He fed them quail from the heavens. They  believed He helped them fight their wars and led them on to victory. God was with them all the way and His grace abounded, and He gave them peace. Now His Israelite children are worshiping Him in heaven and will, if not already, receive their crowns.

Lyrics by Ernest W. Shurtleff, arranged by Henry Smart

“Lead on, O King Eternal, the day of march has come; Henceforth in fields of conquest thy tents shall be our home. Through days of preparation thy grace has made us strong, and now, O King Eternal, we lift our battle song.

Lead on, O King Eternal, till sin’s fierce war shall cease, and holiness shall whisper the sweet amen of peace; for not with swords loud clashing, nor roll of stirring drums; with deeds of love and mercy, the heavenly kingdom comes.

Lead on, O King Eternal, we follow, not with fears; for gladness breaks like morning where’re Thy face appears; Thy cross is lifted o’er us; we journey in its light; The crown awaits the conquest; Lead on, O God of might.

O Love That Will Not Let Me Go

O Love That Will Not Let Me Go

No matter who you are or what you have done, God will always love you. We owe it to God to give our life to Him as He gave His Son to us to take away our sins. He has watched us daily and helped us through many trials and much pain. We cannot hide from Him but gives us every opportunity to praise Him and glorify Him in all that we do.

Lyrics by George Matheson, arranged by Albert L. Peace

“O Love that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul on Thee; I give Thee back the life I owe, that in Thine Ocean depths its flow may richer, fuller be.

O light that follows all my way, I yield my flickering torch to Thee; My heart restores its borrowed ray, that in Thy sunshine’s glow its day may brighter, fairer be.

O joy that seeks me through pain, I cannot close my heart to Thee; I trace the rainbow through the rain, and feel the promises is not in vain that morn shall tearless be.

O cross that lifted my head, I dare not ask to hide from Thee; I lay in dust life’s glory dead, and from the ground there blossoms red life that shall endless be.

It Is Well with My Soul

It Is Well with My Soul

I love this song. It is a good reminder that when things go wrong or when I look back at my sins, that Jesus’ death on the cross overcame all that I must endure here on earth. It is a wonderful feeling to know that God is always in control, and He has forgiven me of my sins. Someday all our clouds will be rolled back as a scroll, the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend. When we ponder all of this it is easy to say, “It is well with my soul!”

Lyrics by Horatio G. Spafford, arranged by Philip P. Bliss

"When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well with my soul.

Though satan should buffet, tho’ trials should come, let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought – my sin-not in part, but the whole, is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

And, Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll, the trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend, “Even so” it is well with my soul.

It is well… with my soul, … it is well, it is well with my soul."

Some Day!

Some Day!

(Beautiful Isle of Somewhere)

"Soon" refers to something happening in the future, such as nightfall or the arrival of Winter. We are all waiting for something to happen soon. Soon, it will be Thanksgiving, soon it will be Christmas. Soon, Jesus will come in all His glory and call His people Home. Soon, we will all be spending eternity either in heaven or hell. All of God’s children will go to heaven and face Jesus in person. It is by God’s grace that we will be saved. All people are God’s creation, but not all are God’s children. Those who do not have a relationship with Jesus, belong to satan. They are satan’s children. Turn to Jesus and follow Him now.

Lyrics by Jessie B. Pounds and Avis Be. Christensen, arranged by J. S. Fearis

“Somewhere the sun is shining, somewhere the song-birds dwell; Hush, then, thy sad repining, God lives and all is well.

Soon will earth’s night be over, soon will the morning dawn; soon will the Christ of glory call His redeemed ones home.

There amid Heaven’s beauties they shall behold His face, and through eternal ages sing of His wondrous grace.

Some day! Some day! We shall behold His glory! Come again, evermore to reign, all will be the wondrous glory!

There's a New Song in My Heart

There’s a New Song in My Heart

So much turmoil and sad news in this world today. It could make a person so depressed that happiness is hard to find. It’s a sin-filled world and it is with a heavy heart that we dwell upon it. Now, though, if we put our trust in Jesus and acknowledge that He is in control, then a transformation happens within our soul. We know that here we are just passing through and our real home is in heaven and we will be joining the happy chorus with praises to the King.

Lyrics by John W. Peterson, arranged by John W. Peterson

“Once my life was filled with discord, sadness reigned within, for my heart was heavy lade with a weight of sin.

What a wondrous transformation in my life was wrought, when I trusted Christ as Savior and His pardon sought.

Someday I will go to Heaven where the angels sing, and I’ll join the happy chorus praising Christ the King.

I shall never cease in praising Jesus Christ my Lord, for the wonderful salvation that He did accord.

There’s a new son in my heart since the Savior set me free; There’s a new son in my heart – tis a heavenly harmony! All my sins are washed away in the blood of Calvary; O what peace and joy nothing can destroy, there’s a new song in my heart.”

Let Him In

Let Him In

Jesus is always waiting for you to let Him into your heart. He has come to you many times, waiting for you to ask Him for help, to invite Him into your home as a guest. He will be the one to make you a feast in your home. He will fill you with His words. He will speak your sins forgiven and show you His loving kindness. Once you let Him in, He will defend you to the end and will take you home to heaven when you die.

Lyrics by Jonathan B. Atchinson, arranged by Edwin O. Excell

“There’s a stranger at the door, Let Him in; He has been there oft before, Let Him in; Let Him in, ere He is gone, Let Him in the Holy One, Jesus Christ the Father’s Son. Let Him in.

Open now to Him your heart, Let Him in; If you wait He will depart, Let Him in; Let Him in, He is your friend, He your soul will sure defend, He will keep you to the end. Let Him in.

Hear you now His loving voice? Let Him in; Now, oh, now make Him your choice, Let Him in; He is standing at your door, Joy to you He will restore, and His name you will adore. Let Him in.

Now admit the heavenly Guest, Let Him in; He will make for you a feast, Let Him in; He will speak your sins forgiven, and when earth ties all are riven, He will take you home to heaven, Let Him in. Let the Savior in.”

Ye, Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim

Ye Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim

It is an awesome privilege to talk about God. The news of His wondrousness can be spread near and far. There are so many ways to get the news that He is in heaven yet is so near to us here. He rules on high and is able to save us to honor His Son. His Love is filled with glory and power and wisdom and might. His angels rejoice with everlasting thanks. Praises go to God for being such a wonderful Father to all His children.

Lyrics by Charles Wesley, arranged by J. Michael Haydn

“Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim, and publish abroad His wonderful name; The name all victorious of Jesus extol; His kingdom is glorious, He rules over all.

God ruleth on high, almighty to save; And still He is nigh – His presence we have; The great congregation His triumph shall sing, Ascribing salvation to Jesus our King.

Salvation to God who sits on the throne, Let all cry aloud and honor the Son; The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim, fall down on their faces and worship the Lamb.

Then let us adore and give Him His right- all glory and power, and wisdom and might; All honor and blessing, with angels above, and thanks never ceasing, and infinite love. Amen.

Twas A Glad Day When Jesus Found Me

Twas A Glad Day When Jesus Found Me

Let us recall the sin that Jesus rescued us from. Think back, because I know we have all been there. What a relief it is to be free from the burden of sin. We know how much we can contribute to Jesus. If it weren’t for Him, we might still be struggling today. Glory be to God for watching over us day and night. He knows when we need Him and He is always there for us. Our hearts rejoice when we know He rescued us and now we have a hope that lies with Him in heaven.

Lyrics by Albert B. Reitz, arranged by Albert B. Reitz

“I was lost in sin when Jesus found me, but He rescued me, all glory to His name! And the cords of worldly pleasure bound me, Till He saved me from sin and shame.

O the bells of heaven now are ringing, for I hear their tones within my ransomed soul; And my heart is filled with joyful singing since the Savior hath made me whole.

O the joy when we shall meet in glory, In the mansions of my Father’s home above; And thro endless ages tell the story of the Savior’s redeeming love.

Twas a glad day when Jesus found me, when His strong arms were thrown around me; when my sins He buried in the deepest sea, and my soul He filled with joy and victory, twas a glad day, O hallelujah! Twas a glad day He claimed His own;  I will shout a glad hosanna in glory when I see Him upon His throne!

All That thrills My Soul

All That Thrills My Soul

It is so thrilling to know that God answers our prayers. Every morning, I wake up to an answered prayer. It makes me rejoice because I know He hasn’t forgotten about me. He wakes me up to a ministry that serves many people. I feel the Love that God showers upon me and I want to share that Love with you. When I am down or make a mistake, I feel His grace. He forgives me and brings me back to where I should be.  All day long God answers our prayers and when He answers no, I patiently wait and praise Him for even a better answer than I imagined.

Lyrics by Thoro Harris, arranged by Thoro Harris

“Who can cheer the heart like Jesus, by His presence all divine? True and tender. Pure and precious, O how blessed to call Him mine.

Love of Christ so freely given, grace of God beyond degree, mercy higher than the heaven, deeper than the deepest sea.

What a wonderful redemption! Never can a mortal know how my sin, Tho’ red like crimson, can be whiter than snow.

Every need His hand supplying, every good in Him I see; On His strength divine relying, He is all in all to me.

By the crystal flowing river with the ransomed I will sing and forever and forever praise and glorifying the King.

All that thrills my soul is Jesus, He is more than life to me; and the fairest of ten thousand in my blessed Lord I see.

Springs of Living Water

Springs of Living Water

Have you ever been in a place in your life where nothing seemed to work or satisfy you? Were you wishing you lived a cleaner, healthier, easier life? Then one day you discovered what was missing, the good Lord himself! He is our living water. He will quench your thirst for a better life. He will give you a sense of satisfaction and make you happy to know that you have decided to follow Jesus. You might even feel like shouting Hallelujah!

Lyrics by John W. Peterson, arranged by John W. Peterson

“I thirsted in the barren land of sin and shame and nothing satisfying there I found; But to the blessed cross of Christ one day, I came, where springs of living water did abound.

How sweet the living water from the hills of God. It makes me glad and happy all the way; Now glory, grace and blessing mark the path I’ve trod, I’m shouting “Hallelujah” every day.

O sinner, won’t you come today to Calvary, a fountain there is flowing deep and wide; The Savior now invites you to the water free. Where thirsting spirits can be satisfied.

Drinking at the springs of living water, happy now am I, my soul they satisfy, drinking at the springs of living water, O wonderful and bountiful supply.

Lord, I'm Coming Home

 Lord, I’m Coming Home

God will never leave us. Usually if we feel God is distant from us, It is us that distanced ourselves from Him. Falling into temptations can cause us to stray far away from God. It can be only for a minute, months, or years. Whatever amount of time it is, sin has taken hold. Once we realize it was us who left God, we also realize we have wasted many precious hours not growing in our faith and relationship with Jesus. The only way to make it right is to repent and put our faith and trust back where it belongs, with Jesus. Our mind, strength and heart will be strengthened and renewed.

Lyrics by William J. Kirkpatrick, arranged by William J. Kirkpatrick.

“I’ve wandered far away from God, Now I’m coming home; the paths of sin too long I’ve trod, Lord, I’m coming home.

I’ve wasted many precious years, Now I’m coming home; I now repent with bitter tears, Lord, I’m coming home.

I’ve tired of sin and straying, Lord, now I’m coming home; I’ll trust Thy love, believe Thy word, Lord, I’m coming home.

My soul is sick, my heart is sore, Now I’m coming home; My strength renew, my hope restore, Lord, I’m coming home.

Coming home, coming home, Never more to roam. Open wide Thine arms of Love, Lord I’m coming home.

Just As I Am

Just As I Am

When we come to Jesus, we come as we are. We cannot come to Him as perfect beings. We are flawed people and come with lots of baggage. Jesus wants us to come as we are. He alone can take away our flaws and remove our baggage.  He alone can remove our sins, our conflicts and doubts. Be not afraid to come to Jesus just as you are. He will cleanse you and set you free.

Lyrics by Charlotte Elliott, arranged by William B. Bradbury

“Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot, to Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, tho’ tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind, sight riches healing of the mind. Yea, all I need is Thee to find. O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve. Because Thy promise I believe. O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Why Do You Wait?

Why Do You Wait?

I’ll wait until I stop smoking or drinking. I’ll wait until I feel ready or feel worthy. Some people feel like they have plenty of life left before they need to come to Jesus. Others believe that just because they are a good person, they don’t need to confess their sins or change their ways. Or maybe their hope relies on a bedside confession. They don’t realize that void in their life is because they don’t have Jesus. No one knows when it is going to be too late. It’s dangerous to wait until the last minute or until they are bedbound. Your decision could mean a heaven or hell outcome. Please turn to Jesus and don’t delay any further.

Lyrics by George F. Root, arranged by George F. Root

“Why do you wait, dear brother, oh, why do you tarry so long? Your Savior is waiting to give you a place in His sanctified throng.

What do you hope, dear brother, to gain by a further delay? There’s no one to save you but Jesus, there’s no other way but His way.

Do you not feel, dear brother, His Spirit now striving within? Oh, why not accept His salvation, and throw off your burden of sin?

Why do you wait, dear brother? The harvest is passing away; Your Savior is longing to bless you, There’s no danger and death in delay.

Why not? Why not? Why not come to Him now? Now?

Is My Name Written There?

I My Name Written There?

Sometimes we wonder if our name is written in the Book of Life. What is it that we put first in our life, is it riches, money, family, or our material possessions? Or are you putting God first and trusting God that your name is written in His book? Each of us have many sins, some known, some unknown but Jesus’s blood that He shed on the cross covers the sins of His children. All our sins will be made like snow. Pure and clean. His mansion awaits us, and the angels are watching. Be assured that if God is first in your life and you love Him with all your heart, mind and soul, your name is written in His book.

Lyrics by Mary A. Kidder, arranged by Frank M. Davis

“Lord, I care not for riches, neither silver nor gold; I would make sure of heaven, I would enter His fold. In the book of Thy kingdom, with its pages so fair, tell me, Jesus, my Savior, Is my name written there?

Lord, my sins they are many, like the sands of the sea, but Thy blood, O my Savior, is sufficient for me; for Thy promise is written, in bright letters that glow, “Thou your sins be as scarlet, I will make them white as snow.”

Oh! That beautiful city, with its mansions of light, with its glorified beings, in pure garments of white; Where no evil thing cometh to despoil what is fair; where the angels are watching, yes, my name’s written there.

Is my name written there, On the page white and fair? In the book of Thy kingdom, Is my name written there?

Jesus is Calling Today

Jesus is Calling Today

Jesus loves you so much and He is calling you, wanting you to bring him your burdens. He wants you to give Him your sins so that He can forgive you. He doesn’t want you to wait another minute. He wants to prepare a home for you and if you wait, it may be too late. Accept His love and come while He is calling you with wide open arms. Believe on His name and rejoice that you have salvation so close at hand.

Lyrics by Fanny J. Crosby, arranged by George C. Stebbins

“Jesus is tenderly calling thee home, calling today, calling today; why from the sunshine of love wilt thou roam farther and farther away?

Jesus is calling the weary to rest, calling today, calling today; bring Him thy burden and thou shalt be blest; He will not turn thee away.

Jesus is waiting; O come to Him now, waiting today, waiting today; come with thy sins; at His feet lowly bow; come, and no longer delay.

Jesus is pleading; O list to His voice; Hear Him today, hear Him today; They who believe on His name shall rejoice; Quickly arise and away.

Calling today, calling today, Jesus is calling, is tenderly calling today.
