Isaiah
54 – Redeemed Sing of Joy
Today
the world sings the blues, but the redeemed will sing of Joy. We are to sing
and rejoice that our Savior will come and fulfill this prophecy of Isaiah.
Right now, Israel is like Sarah, barren until she was 90 years old. Think of
the millions of children that came from her lineage. Someday Israel will
flourish again and have it all. They will no longer be afraid of the Arabs and
the city of Jerusalem will push out into the suburban areas and no longer
experience traffic jams. The Israelites will once again be God’s chosen people
in their own land. No weapon shall come against Israel, and every tongue that
speaks against them will be condemned. This is their promise from God and ours
too if we put our faith and trust in God.
The
future regathering and restoring of Israel are a picture of the wonderful
changes God makes when trials and sufferings end.
Times
of chastening or suffering may seem spiritually barren to you, but God uses them
to give birth to blessings. Times of sorrow and reproach are painful, but they
can lead to greater joy. Storms are frightening, but they polish God’s jewels
and bring Him glory. It is painful to go through the furnace, but God uses the
experience to make you a stronger and better tool.
The
best is yet to come!
