Choosing Your Friends
I Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be deceived, evil company corrupts good habits."
Bad relationships include disrespect, jealousy, lies, unforgiveness, and control freaks.
Bad company is a person who is worthless, depraved, injurious, wicked and gives bad advice.
Character is who you are at the core. a friend, a confidante, those who are closest to us.
2 Corinthians 6:14 "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?"
1. Don't missionary date - one person dates another from a different faith in hopes of changing that person's faith or religion.
2. Only date men and women who have proven their relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Galatians 6:1 "Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any sin, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness considering yourself lest you also be tempted."
Ephesians 5:15-17 "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is."
Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you."
The wise person puts priority on their time: Serving God, On God's will. (What would Jesus do?)
James 5:16 "Confess your sins one to another and pray for one another that you may be healed."
I John 4:2 " By this you know the spirit of God. Every Spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God.
1. Take ownership of your church family.
2. Get involved.
3. Grow in your relationship with God.
4. Have your accountability partner challenge you
5. Avoid temptation.
6. Pray to God to overcome satan.
