Psalm
75 – God is Judge, we are Witnesses.
God
is the judge. His people are only His witnesses. We can tell others about His
great works and His gracious warnings, but we cannot tell when His judgment
will fall. God will choose the proper time, and His judgment will be just.
The
proud rulers of the nations think they are secure, but the God who set them up
can also pull them down. (I Samuel 2:7). The wicked think they are getting away
with their evil deeds, but one day they must drink the wine of God’s wrath.
Meanwhile
God’s children continue to sing His praises because they are sure God knows
what He is doing. The world needs our witness, and worship is the greatest
witness of all. The next time you are disturbed by the evil in the world, pause
and praise the Lord.
Psalm
76 – God is Longsuffering
The
enemies’ fortresses, soldiers and equipment were unable to stand before the
Lord of hosts. It is encouraging to know
that God is for us in the battles of life.
Man’s
fury does not frighten God. He uses it to bring Himself glory, like a woman
wearing a special garment God is longsuffering, but one day He will arise to
judge the wicked. Meanwhile, His people must also fear Him and be faithful to
keep their vows to Him. Never trifle with God.
