Psalm
87 – Zion, The City of God.
That
is where the government of the world will one day be. Zechariah 2:10-11 says, “Lo,
I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord. And many nations
shall be joined to the Lord in that day and shall be my people; and I will
dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath
sent me unto thee.”
The
joy of the whole earth is mount Zion. When the Lord Jesus Christ is there, the
world will come up to Jerusalem, and many nations will be converted. The King
of kings will make Zion the capital of the earth.
Some
people like to boast about the place of their birth, but the “once-born” do not
have the blessing of the “twice-born”. Through faith in Christ, God’s children
are enrolled in the heavenly Zion (Luke10:20); and will live with the Father
forever.
Psalm
88- Look to God
Heman
felt like a dead man buried in a dark pit. Like a drowning man sinking under
cold waves and billows. Like a defiled man watching everybody run away and
leave him alone. Most of all, he felt like a doomed man whom God had forsaken.
But
Heman did not give up. Instead, he looked by faith to God, the God of wonders,
loving-kindness, and faithfulness. He cried out to God and told Him just how he
felt. Your feelings may change, but God never changes. You can trust Him even
in the dark, even when you seem to be drowning.
God
knows how you feel (Heb. 4:14-16) and is working out His purposes for you. The
final verses of your story have not been written you, but God knows what they
are, so wait for Him. They are worth waiting for!
