Numbers
7 – Gifts of the Princes
God
knew all the men and God took note of the gifts that he brought. The Spirit of
God recorded very carefully and in detail what each one brought. Our Lord said,
“But when you do alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does.”
Matt. 6:3. Many people had better not let the right hand know what the left
hand is doing, because both hands are doing so little for the Lord. They should be ashamed of their hands, both
right and left. Little as it is, the
Lord records what we do for Him.
When
Jesus watched a widow put in two little coppers. He saw that she gave all that
she had, and to Jesus hers was the largest gift of all. It is recorded in heaven. Jesus knows exactly what we give to Him, and
He knows how much we keep for our self. He takes note of all the gifts. Everything
we have ever done for Him is recorded, and we will be rewarded for that.
Each
of those twelve leaders were precious to God, and even though their gifts were
identical, God accepted them individually.
The gifts were practical and were used for the service of the temple.
When we supply ministry tools for God’s servants, we also bring gifts to the
Lord.
Although
there are some burdens others can help us bear, “each one shall bear his own
burden.” Galatians 6:1-5
