Ecclesiastes
6 – Accept and Enjoy what You Have
The
man experiences a full and extended life, yet without being satisfied with
goodness; the child, little or no life at all, to have abundance without appreciation
is meaningless.
A
job will not satisfy the soul, and the mind cannot replace the heart, when
people stand before God, neither their commissions nor their continuing
education will sway Him. All we do in life is preserve our life. We work to feed
our bodies, we sleep to keep our bodies healthy, we exercise to keep our life
going. Yet, even the foolish man does the same. Ultimate joy is knowing Him.
Sight
versus desire is Solomon’s version of a “bird in the hand is worth two in the
bush.” God does not condemn dreaming big, but no one should wait for things to
get better before they start enjoying what God has provided.
Everyone’s
destiny has been determined, and ordained by God, so it is nonsense to
foolishly argue with Him about how things are. Only God knows what will happen
in anyone’s life. That is why He is worthy to be trusted. He sees around all
the corners that to humanity are just blind turns. Life passes by like a shadow,
and you do not know the future. In the will of God, make the most of today’s
opportunities and blessings, and you will be ready for what lies ahead.
