Song
of Solomon 3 – A Troubled Night
Waking
and finding Solomon gone, the Shulamite missed him, signaling her sense of
incompleteness without him. In a secure relationship, the partners are free to
surrender their independence and be mutually dependent, increasing their
oneness.
There
are times when the Lord comes to you, but there are also times when you should
seek Him.
Lonely
for her husband, the Shulamite set out to look for him around the city. Couples
should be concerned when they no longer miss their spouse when they are apart. Press
on until you enjoy Him personally.
Solomon
returned from a royal event in a royal procession of state. He was wearing a
crown, signifying that he was married. His return stirred up the Shulamite’s
passion for him and she probably found a way to squeeze in beside him.
The
church is awaiting the Lord’s glorious coming, but as we wait, we experience
His love and Joy. (John 15:9-11). Find your delight in Him today and the joys
of heaven will be greater.
Solomon
returned with a retinue of 60 of his best men with weapons drawn, a public
statement of the power and protection he extended to his bride and all of
Israel.
God’s
protection is ever present.
