My
Hope is in the Lord
Hope is a confident expectation in the promises of God,
grounded in His character and faithfulness. Heb. 11:1 “Faith is the assurance
of what we hope for and certainty of what we do not see.” It is not in what we
do in life that assures us of this hope. Our hope comes in our relationship
with Jesus and what He has done for us. It is in the fact that He will go in
front of His Father to claim us as His own.
Lyrics by Norman J. Clayton, arranged by Norman J.
Clayton
“My hope is in the Lord, who gave Himself for me, and
paid the price of all my sin at Calvary.
No merit of my own, His anger to suppress. My only hope
is found in Jesus’ righteousness.
And now for me He stands, before the Father’s throne, He
shows His wounded hands and names me as His own.
His grace has planned it all. ‘Tis mine but to believe.
And recognize His work of love and Christ receive.
For me, He died, For me, He lives, And everlasting life
and light He freely gives.”
