My Jesus as thou Wilt!
Matthew 26:39 “Father, if it’s possible, let this cup (of
suffering) be taken away from me. But let your will be done rather than mine.”
Jesus gave up His life to do as God willed, so that our sins might be taken
away.
Our life consists of two choices, my will or His will. We live in a sin
filled world where most people live by their will and not God’s will. It takes
a lot of courage, trust and faith to say, “Not my will but thine be done.” Giving
our all to God is doing God’s will and entrusting everything we have to Him who
gave us everything. Our hope is in Him who will take us on to eternity because
we lived within His will.
Lyrics by Benjamin Schmolck, arranged by Joseph P.
Holbrook
“My Jesus, as thou wilt! O may thy will be mine; Into thy
hand of Love, I would my all resign. Thro’ sorrow, or thro’ joy, conduct me as
thine own; and help me still to say, My Lord, Thy will be done.
My Jesus, as Thou wilt! Tho’ seen thro’ many a tear, let
not my star of hope grow dim or disappear. Since thou on earth hast wept and
sorrowed oft alone, if I must weep with Thee, My Lord, Thy will be done.
My Jesus, as Thou wilt! All shall be well for me; each
changing future scene I gladly trust with Thee. Straight to my home above I
travel calmly on, and sing, in life or death, My Lord, Thy will be done.”
