Doubt
Matthew
14:28-31, Matthew 8:26, Hebrews 11
Peter was
walking on the water to Jesus until he got distracted. He took his eyes off Jesus
and began to sink. Jesus said, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:31
Jesus’
disciples were fearful in a storm and were amazed that Jesus could calm the seas.
Matthew 8:26
Do we not
know Jesus well enough to know that He can do anything? Why do we doubt?
“Faith is
the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews
11:1.
The chapter
of Hebrews 11 shows us examples of the men of the Bible who had faith.
Peter lost
what faith he had at the time, because he took his focus off Jesus. Had he
believed that Jesus was stronger than the wind he would have walked all the way
to Jesus.
If we get to
know Jesus by studying His word, then we would have the faith of those in
Hebrews 11 and will believe that Jesus can do anything.
Please
read the scriptures listed, study them, apply them to your life and grow in the
saving relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior.
