Come, We That Love the Lord

Come, We That Love the Lord

All of us who love the Lord have no problem spreading the joy in song and in praise to our God, our Father. We look forward to stand at the throne before God and the more joy we have, the more we want to spread the joy around the world. Let us sing as though we are marching toward the heavenly throne to fairer worlds on high.

Lyrics by Isaac Watts, arranged by Aaron Williams

“Come we that love the Lord, and let our joys be known, join in a song with sweet accord, and thus surround the throne.

Let those refuse to sing who never knew our God, But children of the heavenly King may speak their joys abroad.

The Hill of Zion yields a thousand sacred sweets before we reach the heavenly field, or walk the golden streets.

Then let our songs abound, and every tear be dry; We’re marching through Emmanuel’s ground to fairer worlds on high. Amen”

Unti the Hills

                                         Unto the Hills

The God who made heaven and earth provides salvation for those who have a relationship with His Son, Jesus. Our God watches over us day and night. He never sleeps. He protects us and fights our fights for us. He preserves us in our comings and goings. He is our aid in all situations.

Lyrics by John D.S. Campbell, arranged by Charles H. Purday

“Unto the hills I lift up my longing eyes; O where for me my salvation come, from whence arise? From God, the Lord, doth come  my certain aid, from God, the Lord, who heaven and earth hath made.

He will not suffer that thy foot be moved; Safe shalt thou be. No careless slumber shall His eyelids close, who keepeth thee. Behold, He sleepeth not. He slumbereth never, who keepeth Israel ln His holy care.

Jehovah is Himself thy keeper true, thy changeless shade; Jehovah thy defense on thy right hand Himself hath made. And thee no sun by day shall ever smite; No moon shall harm thee in the silent night.

From every evil shall keep thy soul, from every sin; Jehovah shall preserve thy going out, thy coming in. Above thee watching, He whom we adore shall keep thee henceforth, yea, forevermore.”

Praise Ye the Father

Praise Ye the Father

Praise goes to the Father for choosing His children from all the followers of His Son Jesus. That is the only way to see God, through His Son. Praise be to God for loving us despite our weaknesses and sinful ways. He is the most compassionate, loving and merciful Father. His grace is unending. He loves everyone, both young and old, men and women. Praise Him for sending His Holy Spirit to comfort us and His Son to bless us. They are the trinity and loves us very much!

Lyrics by Author Unknown, arranged by Friedrich F. Fleming

“Praise ye the Father! For His loving kindness, tenderly cares He for His erring children; Praise Him, ye angels, praise Him in the heavens, Praise ye Jehovah!

Praise ye the Savior! Great is His compassion, graciously cares He for His chosen people; young men and maidens, ye old men and children, praise ye the Savior!

Praise ye the Spirit! Comforter of Israel, sent of the Father and the Son to bless us; Praise ye the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, praise ye the Triune God! Amen.”

Work for the Night is Coming

Work for the Night is Coming

If you are a workaholic like me, then your schedule begins when your feet hit the floor in the morning and ends when the night has come. We all want to feel accomplishment at what we do, and we want to know that what we do has a purpose. If we are working at a place that we do not like, then it is hard to feel accomplished or to find purpose in it. On the other hand, if what we do is our Ministry handed to us from the Lord, then we know what our purpose is and accomplishment comes in many forms. It can be a job well done, or in the praises of those who God gave us to serve. Whatever we do, whether it be in a job we like or dislike we must learn to lean on God and He will give us what fulfills us. One thing to remember though is to take on only what God gives us and learn to say no to what we bring on ourselves through other requests.

Lyrics by Anna L. Walker, arranged by Lowell Mason

“Work, for the night is coming, Work through the morning hours; Work while the dew is sparkling; Work, mid springing flowers. Work, when the day grows brighter.

Work, for the night is coming. Work through the sunny noon; Fill brightest hours with labor, rest comes sure and soon. Give every flying minute something to keep in store; Work, for the night is coming, when man works no more.

Work, for the night is coming, under the sunset skies; while their bright tints are glowing, work, for the daylight flies. Work till the last beam faded, faded to shine no more; Work while the night is darkening, when man’s work is over.”

Did You Think to Pray?

Did You Think to Pray?

When you wake up in the morning, did you think to pray? Did you ask the Lord for blessings on your day and a shield of protection against temptations or even harm? Ddi you recognize the Holy Spirit who watched over you through the night and guided you through the day? Did you think to praise Him for his protection. God’s grace abounds when you are loving and forgiving to other people just as He forgave you. Let us not let our troubles draw us down but let us Let God lift us up. He is a balm for our sorrows.

Lyrics by Mrs. M.A. Kidder, arranged by W.O. Perkins

“Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray? In the name of Christ our Savior, did you sue for loving favor, as a shield today?

When you met with great temptation, did you think to pray? By His dying love and merit, did you claim the Holy Spirit as your guide and stay?

When your heart was filled with anger, did you think to pray? Did you plead for grace my brother, that you might forgive another who had crossed your way?

When sore trials came upon you, did you think to pray? When your soul was bowed in sorrow, balm of Gilead did you borrow, at the gates of day?

Oh, how praying rests the weary! Prayer will change the night to day; so in sorrow and gladness, don’t forget to pray.

Tis the Blessed Hour of Prayer

Tis the Blessed Hour of Prayer

The most important part of prayer is faith. Faith in the fact that Jesus is there in your presence. Faith that He is listening. Faith that He cares for you in your joys and in your sorrows. Faith that He will bless you with an answer and it is what you need in your life. Take the time in your hour of prayer to focus on His presence and believe that He is listening and caring about every word you speak. Feel His presence and keep Him close. Pour out your heart and give of yourself. It’s your blessed hour of prayer, make the most of it. You are with Jesus.

Lyrics by Fanny J, Crosby, arranged by William H Doane

“Tis the blessed hour of prayer, when our hearts lowly bend, and we gather to Jesus, our Savior and friend; If we come to Him in faith, His protection to share,

Tis the blessed hour of prayer, when the Savior draws near, with a tender compassion His children to hear; when He tells us we may cast at His feet every care,

Tis the blessed hour of prayer, when the tempted and tried to the Savior who loves them their sorrow confide.

At the blessed hour of prayer, trusting Him we believe that the blessings we’re needing we’ll surely receive;  In the fullness of this trust we shall lose every care; What a balm for the weary! O how sweet to be there! Blessed hour of prayer, Blessed hour of prayer; What a balm for the weary! O how sweet to be there!

The Beautiful Garden of Prayer

The Beautiful Garden of Prayer

Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane many times for alone time, only He wasn’t alone. He was with His Father. I like to garden and so did my husband. When I think of him, I think of him tending God’s garden. I don’t believe we can imagine how beautiful God’s garden is in heaven. I have seen some beautiful gardens in Oregon and Washington that took my breath away, but still, I believe God’s garden is much more beautiful. I am looking forward to meeting Jesus in the beautiful garden of prayer. Even now I know if I go meet Him there in my prayers, He will give me words of comfort and welcome me there. I want to relish the blessings that He gives me. He has blessed me in many ways throughout my lifetime.

Lyrics by Eleanor A. Schroll, arranged by James H. Fillmore

“ There’s a garden where Jesus is waiting, there’s a place that is wondrously fair; For it glows with the light of His presence, Tis the beautiful garden of prayer.

There’s a garden where Jesus is waiting, And I go with my burden and care, Just to learn from His lip’s words of comfort in the beautiful garden of prayer.

There’s a garden where Jesus is waiting, And He bids you to come meet Him there; Just to bow, and receive a new blessing, In the beautiful garden of prayer.

O the beautiful garden, the garden of prayer, O the beautiful garden of prayer; There my Savior awaits, and He opens the gates to the beautiful garden of prayer.
