Come,
Holy Spirit
When Jesus ascended into heaven, He sent His Holy Spirit
to dwell in us, to comfort, guide and instruct us. He gives us peace in the
difficult times and joy in the happy times. He warns us when we are about to do
something contrary to God’s word. And grants us grace when we fall short of
God’s glory. If we listen and watch for Him, we will know this to be true.
Lyrics Lilly Herman Wells, arranged by Kenneth H. Wells
“Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly dove, descend upon my heart;
Fill all my soul with perfect love, Thy wondrous peace impart.
Come, Holy Spirit, cleansing fire, Thou purifying flame;
Burn out the dross of base desire, and cleanse in Jesus’ name.
Come, Holy Spirit, mighty power I claim the promised Word;
That grace be mine each passing hour, to witness for my Lord.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill me now, my spirit yearns for
Thee; With faith before Thy throne, I bow, and claim Thy gift for me.”
