Jesus Paid it All

                                                Jesus Paid it All

There is nothing we can do in our own strength. We might think so, but God gives us our strength, and it is by His grace that we receive the strength we have. God is all powerful and can do anything He desires to do. If we watch what happens in our life, we can see just how powerful He is. All that we have comes from God. All that we do, comes from the abilities He gives us. He can do what we cannot do and through it all He can save us from our sins. It is through Him, we are complete.

Lyrics by Elvina M. Hall, arranged by John T. Grape

“I hear the Savior say, “thy strength indeed is small, child of weakness, watch and pray, find in Me thine all in all.”

Lord, now indeed I find Thy power, and Thine alone, can change the leper’s spots, and melt the heart of stone.

For nothing good have I whereby Thy grace to claim- I’ll wash my garments white in the blood of Calvary’s lamb.

And when, before the throne, I stand in Him complete, “Jesus died my soul to save,” My lips shall still repeat.

Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.”

Blessed Redeemer

                                                            Blessed Redeemer

There He was hanging on a cross, blood dripping down and a crown of thorns on His head. Jesus didn’t ask, “Why me?” He didn’t call for revenge on the people that put Him there. He suffered but He didn’t complain. Instead, He looked on the people and asked God to forgive them. His shoulders were burdened down with sins of the people. Not just the witnesses who hung Him there but for all those who lived then and live now and in the future. Jesus knew each person He died for and loved us so much that He willingly died for us. There wasn’t a more selfless, loving person that ever lived like the Jesus who shed His blood for us.

Lyrica by Avis B. Christiansen, arranged by Harry D. Loes

“ Up Calvary’s mountain one dreadful morn walked Christ my Savior weary and worn; Facing for sinners’ death on the cross, that He might save them from endless loss.

“Father, forgive them!” thus did He pray, Even while His lifeblood flowed fast away; Praying for sinners while in such woe – No one but Jesus ever loved us so.

O how I love Him, Savior and friend, how can my praises ever find end! Through years unnumbered on heaven’s shore, my tongue shall praise Him forever more.

Blessed Redeemer! Precious Redeemer! Seems now I see Him on Calvary’s tree; Wounded and bleeding, for sinners pleading, Blind and unheeding, dying for me!”

To God Be the Glory

                                    To God Be the Glory

Our Father in heaven loved us so much that He gave us His Son who died on the cross to take away our sins. He has opened His gates to all who believe in His Son and has established a relationship with Him. Even the vilest criminal who turns to God will be forgiven.  His word contains many promises that we can rely on and rejoice in knowing Him. I for one, cannot wait to rejoice at the foot of the throne of God.

Lyrics by Fanny j. Crosby, arranged by William H. Doane

“To God be the glory, great things He has done, so loved He the world that He gave us His Son, who yielded His life as an atonement for sin and opened the life gate that all may go in.

O Perfect redemption, the purchase of blood! To every believer the promise of God, The vilest offender who truly believe, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things He has taught us, great things He has done, and greater rejoicing through Jesus His Son; But purer and higher and greater will be our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, let the people rejoice! O come to the Father through Jesus the Son and give Him the glory – great things He has done.”

Sweet Will of God

                                                Sweet Will of God

Some people have had a near death experience or a close call where they are sure God had saved them. Others have hit rock bottom whether with drugs, alcohol, or some other sinful behavior where they felt there was no way out. It is only when God provides for them a solution that they realize they need to get to know God better and bend to His will. When God brings the light out of their darkness, they receive hope for a better future and peace in their life.

Lyrics by Leila N. Morris, arranged by Leila N. Morris

“My stubborn will at last has yielded; I would be Thine, and Thine alone; And this the prayer my lips are bringing “Lord, let in me Thy will be done.”

I’m tired of sin, foot-sore and weary, the darksome path has dreary grown, but now a light has risen to cheer me; I find in Thee my Star, my Sun.

Thy precious will, O conquering Savior, does now embrace and compass me; All discords hushed, my peace a river, my soul a prisoned bird set free.

Shut in with Thee, O Lord, forever, my wayward feet no more to roam; What power from Thee my soul can sever? Then center of God’s will my home.

Sweet will of God, still fold me closer, till I am wholly lost in Thee; Sweet will of God, still fold me closer, Till I am wholly lost in Thee.

Teach, Me Thy Will, O Lord

Teach Me Thy Will, O Lord

All who follow Jesus wants to know God’s will. When we are in a confusing situation, we want to know God’s will. Whatever we are doing, we want to know God’s will. I know for Christians, His will is for us to have a relationship with His Son, Jesus and to emulate Jesus’ actions. When we are in a situation, we are not sure of, it is good to ask ourselves what would Jesus do? What does God’s word say about God’s will. He wants us to study His words daily, to digest it so much that when a person asks us a question concerning God, we will have an answer. He wants us to be obedient to His word. We cannot pick and choose what we want to obey. We must obey Him in all things.

Lyrics by Katherine A. Grimes, arranged by William M. Runyan

“Teach me Thy will, O Lord, teach me Thy will; Teach me to know Thy word, teach me to pray. Whatever seems best to Thee, that be my earnest plea; So that Thou draws me closer each day.

Teach me Thy wondrous grace, Boundless and free; Lord, let Thy blessed face shine upon me. Heal Thou sin’s every smart, dwell Thou within my heart; Grant that I never part, Savior from Thee.

Teach me by pain Thy power, teach me by love; Teach me to know, each hour, Thou art above. Teach me as seems best in Thee to find sweet rest; Leaning upon Thy breast, all doubt removes.

Teach Thou my lips to sing, my heart to praise; Be Thou my Lord and King through all my days. Teach Thou my soul to cry, “Be Thou, dear Savior, nigh, teach me to live, to die, saved by Thy grace.”  Amen

Come, We That Love the Lord

Come, We That Love the Lord

All of us who love the Lord have no problem spreading the joy in song and in praise to our God, our Father. We look forward to stand at the throne before God and the more joy we have, the more we want to spread the joy around the world. Let us sing as though we are marching toward the heavenly throne to fairer worlds on high.

Lyrics by Isaac Watts, arranged by Aaron Williams

“Come we that love the Lord, and let our joys be known, join in a song with sweet accord, and thus surround the throne.

Let those refuse to sing who never knew our God, But children of the heavenly King may speak their joys abroad.

The Hill of Zion yields a thousand sacred sweets before we reach the heavenly field, or walk the golden streets.

Then let our songs abound, and every tear be dry; We’re marching through Emmanuel’s ground to fairer worlds on high. Amen”

Unti the Hills

                                         Unto the Hills

The God who made heaven and earth provides salvation for those who have a relationship with His Son, Jesus. Our God watches over us day and night. He never sleeps. He protects us and fights our fights for us. He preserves us in our comings and goings. He is our aid in all situations.

Lyrics by John D.S. Campbell, arranged by Charles H. Purday

“Unto the hills I lift up my longing eyes; O where for me my salvation come, from whence arise? From God, the Lord, doth come  my certain aid, from God, the Lord, who heaven and earth hath made.

He will not suffer that thy foot be moved; Safe shalt thou be. No careless slumber shall His eyelids close, who keepeth thee. Behold, He sleepeth not. He slumbereth never, who keepeth Israel ln His holy care.

Jehovah is Himself thy keeper true, thy changeless shade; Jehovah thy defense on thy right hand Himself hath made. And thee no sun by day shall ever smite; No moon shall harm thee in the silent night.

From every evil shall keep thy soul, from every sin; Jehovah shall preserve thy going out, thy coming in. Above thee watching, He whom we adore shall keep thee henceforth, yea, forevermore.”
