Weary
Matthew 11:28-30, I Corinthians 15:58, Galatians
6:9,10
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle
and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy
and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in
vain in the Lord.”
I Corinthians 15:58
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due
season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have
opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the
household of faith.” Galatians 6:9,10
Do you sometimes feel weary? Do you feel like others are
asking too much of you? Do you feel heavy ladened? What are we to do about
this? I believe the first thing we must do is to discern what it is that God is
asking you to do and what it is that mankind is asking you to do. If God is
asking you to do something, then He will see you through it. If it is from man,
then we need to ask ourselves if it aligns with God’s will and if it is within
our priorities. There is nothing wrong with doing for others as long as we are
not overdoing it. There is so much we can do in one day and if we don’t have
time for ourselves on that day, then we must be taking on too much. Don’t be
weary, be discerning. Your reward awaits you in heaven.
Please read the scriptures listed, study
them, apply them to your life and grow in the saving relationship with Jesus
Christ our Savior.
