Worried
Matthew 6:19-34, I Peter 5:6,7
“Therefore, do not worry, saying what shall we eat? Or what
shall we drink? Or what shall we wear? For after all, these things the Gentiles
seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek
first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be
added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry
about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew
6:31-34
“Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of
God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He
cares for you.”
I Peter 5:6,7
When we worry, we are telling God that we don’t think he
can handle our situation. We’re not even sure we can handle the situation
ourselves. When we let go of the worry and put our trust in the fact that God
knows what is best for us and His plans are perfect, then we can relax and let
God do His work. We don’t have to know what He’s going to do; we just must believe
it is going to turn out good.
“And we know that all things work together for good to
them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Romans
8:28
