Hatred/Enemies
Matthew
5:43-48
“But I say
to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate
you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may
be sons of your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:44,45
There are people
in our life that we may not like, and people who may not like us. Not everyone
can be of the same mind and pleasing to each other.
When we look
at the people we don’t like; try looking at them through God’s eyes. God loves
that person as much as He loves us. God created that person and has placed them
in our lives for a reason. Maybe it is to teach us patience, or maybe it is to
make us look inward at our own selves. Either way God is telling us to love our
enemies, do good to our enemies, and pray for them. We don’t have to like the
things they do, but we do have to love them.
If God can
love us with all our imperfections and sinful ways, who are we that we can’t
love even our enemies.
Please
read the scriptures listed, study them, apply them to your life and grow in the
saving relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior.
