Lip Service
Matthew
7:21
“Not
everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he
who does the will of my Father in heaven.” Matthew 7:21
Lip service
is expressing approval or support for something or someone without taking any
significant action.
One might
pledge their allegiance to God but if they do not obey His commandments and do
the will of God, it is merely lip service.
It is one
thing to say God is my Father but if we don’t pay our respects to God in
prayer, worship and praise, then we are only going through the motions and not
confirming our belief in God. Our words must be followed by our actions.
Please
read the scriptures listed, study them, apply them to your life and grow in the
saving relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior.
