Sorrowful
Psalm 51,
Matthew 5:4, John 14, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, I Thessalonians 4:13-18
Everyone has
regrets in their life. David’s regrets were shared with us in Psalm 51. He had
taken another man’s wife and had her husband killed to make her his own. With a
deep-seated heart of remorse, he repented and ask God to “create in him a clean
heart and renew a steadfast spirit within him.” He asked for forgiveness and in
God’s infinite mercy God forgave him.
“Blessed are
those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
“Jesus is
the Way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
Jesus Christ.” John 14:6. God hears our prayers, He answers prayers, He sends
us the Holy spirit to help us and live within us. He gives us peace. John 14.
I
Thessalonians 4:13-18 reminds us that we don’t have to sorrow over the loved
ones that have gone before us because when Jesus comes to get us, He will raise
up the dead first, then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we shall always be
with the Lord.
Strive not
to sorrow over past mistakes or those loved ones we miss. Give it to God and
wait on Jesus to come and get us to take us home with Him.
“He who
waits on the Lord shall soar like wings of an eagle.” Isaiah 40:31.
