When Faith Fails
Psalm
42:5, Hebrews 11
“Why are you
cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I
shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.” Psalm 42:5.
“Faith is
the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews
11:1
How strong
is your faith?
When things
get tough, when you are feeling anxious, when you have fallen for temptation,
when your world seems to be crashing in around you, what do you do? Do you
reach out to God, or do you try to handle problems on your own? We tend to do
that, don’t we? And when things don’t work out the way we hoped, we must ask ourselves,
why wasn’t my faith strong enough to let God handle it? Doesn’t He have our best
interest at heart and doesn’t He promise “that all things turn out for the good
to those who Love God and are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.
In Hebrews
11 it mentions that Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham and Sarah all died in faith, not
having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of
them.
Isaac,
Jacob, Joseph, Moses and many others all obtained good testimony through faith.
God invites us to seek Him in both the good times and the bad times. Wouldn’t
it be great to see in His Book of Life our name written of those who died in
faith.
Please
read the scriptures listed, study them, apply them to your life and grow in the
saving relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior.
