Joy
Luke 10:20; John 15:11
“Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits
are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke
10:20
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may
remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11
Let’s consider the Joy of the Lord. His joy is doing the
will of God, His Father. His joy is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and He
expresses His joy in the parable of the Lost sheep. Him and all the angels of
heaven rejoice when one of us had been lost but now are saved.
Our gladness of heart or joy comes from knowing God,
abiding in Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. It is a feeling of
good pleasure and happiness that is dependent on who Jesus is rather than on
who we are or what is happening around us. Let us rejoice and be glad that God
is in our lives guiding and directing our paths straight to heaven. He will
lead if we follow. Along the way, let us reach out to those who are lost and
bring them to Christ.
Please read the scriptures listed, study
them, apply them to your life and grow in the saving relationship with Jesus
Christ our Savior.
