Watchfulness
Mark 13:34-37
“It is like a man going to a far country, who left his
house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded
the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master
of the house is coming -in the evening at midnight, at the crowing of the
rooster- lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I
say to all; Watch!”
Only God knows when that day will come when Jesus returns
and rapture some up and leave some behind. I pray that you are not left behind.
Jesus tells us to be watchful and to
mind our business. He gave each of us a job to do and we must do it to the best
of our ability. He does not give us free time to sleep on the job or go out and
party until you can’t focus on the job at hand. The one thing He asks of us is
to watch! That doesn’t mean we can’t physically sleep, it means we must be spiritually
aware of what we are doing and how we are presenting ourselves to Him and to
others. We must watch our lifestyle, watch our speech, watch our manners, watch
our time spent with Him. Be all that we can be for Christ and when He comes, He
will take us home to be with Him. Watch and be ready!
Please read the scriptures listed, study
them, apply them to your life and grow in the saving relationship with Jesus
Christ our Savior.
